Get Involved
Parvarish is not funded by one large donor. It is held up by many ordinary people who each take responsibility for a child or a corner of the work. The people who do this are called Kartas.
Once a child joins a mainstream school, fees are only the beginning. Books, uniforms, materials and after-school support all add up. Sponsoring a child covers a full year of that journey, and connects you to one young life as it changes.
Start sponsoringA one-time or recurring gift keeps the bus on the road, the shared meals warm, and the art and science materials stocked. Philanthropic groups can also adopt a whole area of expenditure to help the school run smoothly.
Make a giftTeach a session, train the literacy teachers, document the work, photograph a day, or lend a professional skill. The teachers and volunteers are, in the school's own words, its real strength.
Volunteer with usInternship
Students of education, social work, design and development can intern with Parvarish and OASiS, working alongside teachers in the museums and in the slums.
You will help plan lessons that map to exhibits, support the move from registration to mainstream school, and see first-hand how a social innovation is built and sustained. Write to us with your background and the dates you have in mind.

The idea was always meant to travel. Almost every Indian city has museums short on visitors and children short on quality education. The Museum School matches the two, at little or no extra cost to the state.
OASiS is looking for partners who would like to replicate The Museum School for urban slum children in their own cities. Museums in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore have already shown interest.

Gathering children from three neighbourhoods and carrying them home full of songs.
A warm group meal at the museum, often a child's most reliable food of the day.
Slates, colours, craft supplies and the materials for vocational skills.
Fees, uniforms and the after-school teaching a regular school cannot give.
